David Harding Little Thunderbird Student Spotlight: David was chosen as September Student of the Month. Mrs. Skersick, David’s 3rd grade teacher says, “I chose David as September's student of the month because he is well organized and very reliable. He joins google meets in a timely manner and participates in discussions. He stays behind to ask for help when needed and is there to support his friends from a distance. He has wonderful manners and a delight to have in my class this year. Congratulations David for keeping up the amazing work.” David is most proud of himself because he gets all his homework done and goes to all the online class meetings. Next Week is UNITY Week- Anti-Bullying. We will be having another poster contest. There will be one winner from each grade (4-12: 9 winners) Winners will receive a Thunderbird T-Shirt! Posters will be judged by staff. Posters need to be turned in to the Guidance Office by October 21st!! Poster paper and supplies available in the commons- Pick up supplies in the commons area or in the guidance office. You are allowed to team up with classmates to come up with ideas. grades 4-12 DISTANCE LEARNERS can also participate. Blaire Ingibritson is Mr. Barberg's student of the month. Kind words from Mr.Barberg~ Blaire displays a continually positive attitude. Most of the time she helps without being asked. She consistently does things like putting up other people's chairs and picking up their garbage without being told. She always gives things a try even when things are difficult for her.

Hunter’s teacher, Mrs. Peterson says, “I chose Hunter because he has been giving 100% during distance learning! He shows up to every google meets session and is always prepared! He has a positive and fun attitude and is always willing to share and participate.” Hunter is most proud of himself when he helps his mom and dad with chores. One chore he does is to take out the trash. Hunter’s favorite part of school is studying math. Fun facts about Hunter: He can do a flip on the trampoline. Information regarding Volleyball spectators being allowed at games. NO FANS WILL BE ALLOWED ON MONDAY'S GAMES. This includes the Varsity/JV/C games at Nevis and also the Jr High games at Waubun. After Monday, for JR HIGH GAMES - each Thunderbird player will be allowed 2 adult guests. Away team fans will not be allowed. There will be a Live stream for Jr High home Volleyball games. Information on this will be given when it is finalized. The Live stream will not be on the same site as the Varsity home games. Moving forward for VARSITY/JV/C games - all players, home and away, will be allowed 2 adult guests. She has embraced school this year, even if it looks differently. She is a great role model to her fellow 2nd graders. She has a great sense of humor and her smile is infectious! Aurora is a great classroom helper. No job is too big or small. Her favorite job is to help with answering the phone. She is very polite on the phone. She has great manners throughout the school. She is also very responsible. Her mom says she is quite proficient on the computer and doesn’t need coaxing to get her word done. Aurora loves to read. Her favorite book is “Nibbles.” She has read parts of it to her class. She delights the listeners with great expressions! In her free time, she loves to help on her farm to sell pumpkins!! Aurora is a well-rounded, enthusiastic 2nd grader that we are proud to call September’s student of the month”. Aurora is most proud of herself because she wears her mask all day and she works hard at math. Attendance at MSHSL activities is reduced due to COVID-19. Events are not open to the public. KRJM radio, Waubun, and Mahnomen schools are partnering to live stream the activities to try and keep the Thunderbird support going! So please see Following Football attendance information for Friday, October 9 - Football vs Warroad. Each Thunderbird football player is allowed 3 invites and each cheerleader is allowed 2 invites that need to be submitted to their coach/advisor by 6:00pm the night before the game. Coaches will get 1 pass each. Employees hired to work at the game such as workers to run the clock, chain gang, announcer, supervision, gate workers, etc will be on the list. ONLY THOSE ON THE INVITE LIST WILL BE ALLOWED IN. No exceptions. Gates open at 3:40pm. JV game will begin at 4:00. Once you are in the complex, we ask that you not leave. Restrooms will be limited. Concessions are not allowed. Those in attendance will be required to practice social distancing and wear a mask. Once again, KRJM 101.5 FM will be providing a Livestream of the game, complete with play by play and providing coverage on the radio also. https://yourliveevent.com/ Clearbrook-Gonvick School District has notified us that they are not allowing spectators for tonight's game.
