Family engagement is the process used to build genuine relationships with families. Family engagement happens in the home, early childhood program, school, and community. It is a shared responsibility of all those who want children to succeed in school and in life. A true partnership honors a family's strengths and culture, mutual respect, and shared goals for the child. Our Family Engagement Survey, will lay the groundwork for these partnerships. Reminder to families: When your student is absent please call the office to excuse them or send a note with your student the next day they come to school. This helps keep our unexcused absences down and helps us get homework for the student. Communication is key to a strong relationship between families and WOWE!

Congratulations to our November Seven Grandfather Teachings Award Winners: gwayakwaadiziwin- Honesty Facing a situation is to be brave, but having the courage to not only do the right thing, but also saying it, is honesty. We must allow truth to be our guide. We must first be honest with ourselves. This will allow us to be honest with others. We must give full value to both the efforts of our own and others. When we walk through life with integrity, it is then that we know honesty. Be truthful and trustworthy. We must also remember to accept and act on truths through straightforward and appropriate communication. Being truthful and trustworthy. Tell the truth. Be honest with yourself, recognize who and what you are. Accept and act on truths with straightforward and appropriate communication. Be honest in every action and provide good feelings in the heart. Do not be deceitful or use self-deception. Honesty keeps life simple.

Aubree was chosen for November student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Bement says, “Aubree is a wonderful student to have in class. She never complains about any of the work that she has to do and always has a positive attitude in all that she does. She always gives 110% effort and has made great gains throughout the school year already. She encourages others in a quiet manner and proves to be a great example herself by being a good listener, raising her hand, not talking when the teacher is talking, etc. I am very proud of all of your successes Aubree and look forward to all that you will accomplish the rest of this school year and the years to come. Keep on being the amazing student that you are!!!” Aubree’s favorite part of school is recess. She likes swinging with her friends. She really likes math too. At home, Aubree likes to play with her baby sister. They play with babies together. Aubree is really looking forward to sledding this winter. Her favorite food is cheese pizza. Her favorite book is the Peppa Pig books. Aubree can do back flips on the trampoline! Way to go, Aubree! You are amazing!!
