Dear Parents/Guardians: Students are expected to ride their assigned bus each day. In the event that a student needs to be dropped off at an alternative location, parents/guardians must call and notify the office before 2:00 pm. Requests made after 2:00 pm will not be accepted. Please note that bus passes are subject to the maximum capacity of each bus and are restricted to scheduled stops on the bus route. Thank you for your cooperation!

The 2023-2024 school year is off to a GREAT start! Ogema Elementary students and teachers attended a Welcome Back school assembly to wrap up the amazing week!


Waubun Elementary parents/guardians: The afterschool SACC program will begin Monday, September 11th, for grades 4-6 students. Registration forms have been sent home with all students and must be completely filled out and returned before they can be in the program. Students can be picked up and signed out in the high school office. Please contact Charlene Gilliss at 473.6122 with any questions.

Please sign up even if you signed up last year. This way we can get updated ages and any other information. The Waubun-Ogema-White Earth ECFE program is a separate class for children ages 0-4 and their parents/guardians. During each class, we have age-appropriate table activities, plus time to explore the other toys around the room. We will read a story and have a small snack at the end of each class. ECFE meets Monday evenings 1-3 times per month, from 5:30-6:30 pm (calendar will be provided with set dates). There is no charge to attend the ECFE class. JOB SUMMARY: Organize, coordinate, schedule, and perform office functions. This position will assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members to provide students with educational benefits. The Student Services Coordinator/ MARRS Coordinator will provide student services, maintain the Minnesota Automated Reporting Student System, and manage the guidance office.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Greet new families to District 435
Provide and assist students/families in the school registration process
Determine appropriate district for enrolling student/families
Maintain current and leaving students records and ensuring accurate student information; Address, Head of Household information, School Area Township/Section, Telephone Numbers, Emergency contacts, Open Enrollment, Student demographics, Etc.
Assists guidance office with student schedules, appointments, and other tasks as assigned.
Coordinate with the homeless liaison to determine eligibility of students/families and aid in receiving services and needs of the student.
Communicate with child protection and social services regarding students, while updating staff within and outside the district.
MARSS REPORTING - MARSS ELEMENTS:
Collect, organize, and maintain accurate student information, including demographics, enrollment status, attendance, special education services, and program participation.
Input and update student data in the MARSS system on an ongoing basis.
Verify and correct discrepancies in student records to ensure data accuracy.
Generate and submit required reports to the state's education department in accordance with deadlines and guidelines.
Collaborate with other school staff to gather necessary information for reporting purposes.
Monitor and review reports for errors and inconsistencies, making necessary adjustments.
Stay up-to-date with state regulations, policies, and procedures related to MARSS reporting. Ensure the school's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing student data privacy and confidentiality. Participate in training sessions to enhance understanding of MARSS reporting requirements.
Serve as a point of contact for internal staff, students, parents, and external agencies regarding MARS-related inquiries.
Job Requirements:
Skills are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Operating standard office equipment including computers, copiers, and fax machines.
Strong customer service skills.
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
Knowledge of Google, Microsoft, Excel, Synergy software is a plus.

Working Environment:.In general, the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing.
Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Excellent organizational and computer skills are also essential.
Education: Associate degree and/or five to seven years of relevant work experience preferred.
