WOWE Indian Education sponsored a field trip for the 9th grade Civics class and the ALC students to the RBC today. Students got to tour the building and listen to many department representatives speak about their job duties, education, and experience. Maintenance, Enrollments, Education, Land, ICW, Youth, Marketing, Public Safety, Legal, Judicial, Natural Resources, Tribal Health, HR, Finance, Compliance, Admin and the Tribal Council all spoke to the students. The session wrapped up with the importance of voting and then some pizza. Tribal Chairman Michael Fairbanks along with Sec/Tr Michael LaRoque, District 1 Rep Henry Fox and District 3 Rep Laura Lee Erickson were all in attendance to speak about tribal government and all the important duties they have. It was a great way for students to see in person how government works and how each department works while all be connected to the people of White Earth.
