Bringing Learning to Life in the School Forest!
Our 5th-grade students recently spent an afternoon in the School Forest, where learning came alive through hands-on, nature-based experiences.
Students explored two engaging rotations:
1. Culture & Spring Phenology – They checked maple tree taps and learned how sap is traditionally boiled into syrup.
2. Notice & Wonder – Students hiked the forest trail, made observations, asked questions, and formed hypotheses about the natural world.
Even with cooler temps, our students embraced the outdoors with curiosity and enthusiasm!
We are grateful for the strong partnership between our School Forest educators, classroom teachers, and White Earth Natural Resources. Together, they create opportunities that connect students to culture, science, and the land right in our own backyard.
Thank you for supporting outdoor learning in our schools!
