A special shout-out to our amazing community partners—we couldn’t have done it without your support!
This year, we collected 425 gallons of sap and boiled it down to create 10.5 gallons of delicious maple syrup—all thanks to the incredible teamwork and dedication of our students and partners.
We’re grateful for everyone who came out to eat, plant seeds, and enjoy the trails. Here’s to more sweet memories ahead!

Spring Science Comes Alive at the School Forest!
2nd-grade students had a hands-on learning adventure exploring seed dispersal in nature! Through observation and play, they discovered how seeds travel by wind, water, animals, and even explosions to grow in new places.
The experience was topped off with a hike through the woods, where students spotted signs of spring—from ramps to duck week.
We’re so grateful that our students can have these meaningful and memorable science experiences in the great outdoors!

Listening to Nature’s Music
1st grade students stepped outside and tuned into the hidden sounds of nature! From tapping sticks and pebbles on logs to shaking pinecones and listening to leaves rustle, they discovered that all sound begins with vibration.
Through hands-on exploration, they learned how size, shape, and material affect the sounds we hear—some deep and booming, others soft and crackly. A tuning fork against a tree helped us “see” how even the biggest objects can vibrate.
We also enjoyed a peaceful sound walk, where students silently listened and then shared the beautiful natural sounds they noticed—like birdsong, wind in the trees, and crunchy leaves underfoot.
It was a joyful reminder that nature is always speaking—we just have to pause and listen.

Step Outside and Soar!
This week, our Kick Start and First Grade students took their learning beyond the classroom walls and into the wonders of nature! Through play, exploration, and observation, they discovered textures under their feet, sounds in the trees, and the joy of moving their bodies in the great outdoors.
Why does this matter?
Spending time in nature helps children:
Build confidence and independence
Strengthen motor skills and coordination
Spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving
Improve focus and reduce stress
Outdoor learning isn’t just fun—it’s foundational. Every stick they turn over, every leaf they examine, and every trail they wander is helping them grow in body, mind, and spirit.
Let the adventures continue!
