Miss Allen's Kindergarten class has spent the week talking about Earth Day. We have talked about reducing, reusing, recycling, conservation, and restoration. Yesterday, my students actually recycled paper from our classroom recycling bin. The students tore the paper into little scraps and blended them into a pulp by adding water and a little glue. After straining through a screen, the paper was left to dry over night. Today we cut and wrote on our recycled paper! Young children love and are naturally protective of the earth and its living creatures. I'm super proud of how earnestly my kids discussed and processed the importance of caring for our planet; it's never too early to emphasize this responsibility. ♡
