Senior Spotlight:
Taleigha was chosen as a student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Johnson says, “I am very lucky to have Taleigha in my classroom. She has a kind and gentle soul and her smile is very contagious! Her willingness to never give up is outstanding. When it comes to Taleigha’s work she is always working to her highest potential. I can also always rely on Taleigha to help out with anything I ask her. Way to use your Thunderbird Pride Taleigha!”
Taleigha’s favorite part of school is math. She loves to measure objects with a ruler. Taleigha also loves gym because she loves to play basketball. She is most thankful for her grandma because she is a good cook. Taleigha’s favorite is her tacos! At home, Taliegha likes to play on her tablet and play outside. Her highlight of second grade was to plant flowers in steam class.

Liam was chosen for student of the month. His teacher, Miss Stalberger says, “Liam strives to do well in all areas of school and has made huge gains throughout the year! He takes great pride in his work and is always willing to lend a hand to others when they need it! Liam is quick to raise his hand and has excellent explanations for all of his answers! He is kind, funny, and outgoing! I love seeing the smile on his face each and every day! We love having him in first grade!!!”
Liam’s favorite part of school is recess and gym. He likes to exercise, play, and run around playing tag. Liam’s highlight of 1st grade has been to learn about the vowels and letters. Liam is most thankful for his family because they give him toys. At home, Liam likes to play basketball outside.

Nolan was chosen for student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Brininger says, “I chose Nolan as student of the month because of his great work ethic, his willingness to help others, and his positive attitude. Nolan puts 100% into his work, participates in everything we do in class, and does everything with a smile on his face. He is a wonderful kid and I am lucky to have him in my class!”
Nolan’s favorite part of school is free choice time. He likes to play with the trucks and minecraft toys. Nolan is most thankful for his teacher because she taught Nolan his letters. Nolan’s highlight of kindergarten has been snack time when he gets to eat Cheeze-its. At home, Nolan’s like to play card games.

McKinley was chosen for Student of the Month. Her teacher, Mrs. Oertwich says, “McKinley always completes all of her work and is a great friend to all. She has such a fun bubbly personality! She is patient, kind, and loves to talk. You can’t help but smile around McKinley! She is a fantastic reader, writer and loves to type stories on the computer. She is a great role model for others! I am so lucky to have had you in my class this year, McKinley. Keep shining brightly!”
McKinley’s favorite part of school is indoor recess. She likes to play with the magnets and kinetic sand. McKinley’s favorite thing to learn in 2nd grade has been to multiply! McKinley is most thankful for being a nice friend. When someone gets hurt, McKinley likes to cheer them up and help her friends feel better. At home, McKinley likes to play with her dog and jump on the trampoline with him.

Spring Band Concerts!
The Mahnomen Swimming Pool will be offering small group lessons in June. Lessons will be Tuesday-Thursday June 1st-17th. Cost is $30 per participant, which is due by the 1st day of class. Each level is limited to 5 participants. Levels 1-4 are being offered at this time. Registration is available online via the link below.

Reminder for grades 6-11 - Football Cheer Team Tryouts - Tomorrow in Waubun from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. Please report to room 205 (Mrs. Pariso's Room) dressed in workout clothes, tennis (or cheer) shoes, and hair pulled back, out of face. Bring a writing utensil and leave phones in bags! This is a one day tryout. Announcement of the 2021-2022 Team will be announced May 27th.
