
Jase was nominated for student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Harstad says, “Jase is a very respectful student. He shows respect in the classroom by following directions, staying on task, and participating in lessons. Jase is kind to the other students in his classroom and to all other staff as well. He is a role model for all students, and he is a pleasure to have in class.”
Jase’s favorite part of school is running around at recess. He mostly likes to play catch with his friends. His favorite subject is math. At home, Jase likes to play football with his dad. He said his dad is teaching him how to be a better quarterback. Jase’s favorite football teams are the Vikings and the Thunderbirds. His favorite player is Adam Thielen. Jase really likes to ride horses with his aunt. HIs favorite horse is Lace. At his grandma and grandpa’s house, he likes to play with his cousin, Stephen.

Brennan was chosen as student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Haugo says, “Brennen is doing an outstanding job of learning everything he can in 2nd grade. He actively contributes to classroom discussions. He is a positive role model for his fellow classmates. He always takes his education seriously. Brennen is very responsible and completes his school work on time and puts in extra effort to do an excellent job. Mr. Peterson, Enrichment Teacher said that Brennen is the model of what a 2nd grade student should be. Brennen is enjoyable to have in class. He is kind and thoughtful. Congratulations Brennen!”
Brennan’s favorite part of school is doing math and learning new things, especially borrowing in subtraction. Brennan said his sister, Niveah has taught him lots of cool things. He really likes reading chapter books and Dogman books. At home, Brennan likes to ride his bike and play video games. He likes to stand up on his bike and climb up steep hills. Brennan likes to jump on the trampoline with his littlest brother.

Porter was chosen as October student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Brininger says, “I chose Porter as the student of the month because he shows respect to his classmates and his teachers. He listens to others, he is kind to everyone, and is always willing to help when needed. Porter raises his hand to participate in class discussions and enjoys sharing with his friends. Porter is polite and uses his manners. Great job, Porter!”
Porter’s favorite part of school is being student of the month. He said it makes him feel very proud. Porter likes to learn about letters and really likes the letter, S. He said it is very fun to write. At home, he likes to jump on the trampoline and help his dad with the cows. He said they take the skid steer, scoop up a bucket of feed, and then dump the feed into the trough. Porter’s favorite book is the Pout Pout Fish. His favorite food is pepperoni pizza!

Abby was chosen for student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Erickson says, “I chose Abby as the Student of the Month for October. Abby is such a kind, generous, respectful, helpful student. She is a shining light in our classroom! She is always showing respect by having a “Five Star Listening Body” and raising her hand while learning in the classroom. She is a positive role model for her classmates by following the directions right away, and by neatly completing her work. She is very caring and generous, showing kindness towards her friends by making sure that they are OK when they are upset or by helping them with daily tasks throughout the day. Keep up the AMAZING work, Abby! I am so proud of you, and am so lucky to have you as a part of my classroom family this year. Way to go!”
Abby’s favorite part of school is playing with her friends at recess. They play lava monsters together. She also likes to color rainbows in her classroom. At home, she likes to play Barbies and dolls with her neighborhood friends. Abby’s favorite food is bacon. She likes all books about rainbows and unicorns. Abby can do a backflip, front flip, somersault, and hop on one foot.

Slade was chosen as October Student of the Month. His teacher, Mrs. Jorud says, “Slade was voted Student of the Month by his classmates, and I whole-heartedly agree that he demonstrates respect inside and outside the classroom. Some of his classmates said that he is nice to everyone, he's a good listener and he always completes his homework. Slade values other students' perspectives' and is a good listener. Slade is new to our school this year and is already making an impact! He is a huge asset to our classroom and I can always count on him to model respectful behavior all the time. Way to go Slade!”
Slade’s favorite part of school is that everyone is very friendly and the teachers are very nice. His favorite class is Ojibwe class and learning about the different tools that were used in the past. Slade says this topic is very interesting. At home, Slade likes to play with his cousins. They jump on the trampoline and race. Slade says that usually he is the fastest, although sometimes Nolan beats him. (He clarified and said Nolan beat him one time only!) Slade’s favorite book series is Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Nakona was chosen as October student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Peterson says, “Nakona has been so fun to have in class. She works hard and never gives up, even when she faces a challenge. She is helpful in class and I can always count on her to encourage others to do their best. Nakona always participates and has something positive to share. She is a good friend and always makes sure that others are included. I look forward to seeing her smile each day!”
Kona’s favorite part of school is math class. She likes to learn how to subtract. Kona also likes to watch videos and do dances in music class. At home, Kona likes to jump on her trampoline. She can do a back and front flip. Kona’s favorite food is spaghetti.

Donnie was chosen as student of the month. His teacher says, “Donnie does a great job of showing respect for all-his peers and adults. He is courteous in doing so and makes others feel welcome and like a friend. We need more people like Donnie in our world! Way to go Donnie!”
Donnie’s favorite part of school is playing color tag in gym class. Donnie likes Italian dunker day for lunch. At home, Donnie likes to play with his cousin and sister. His favorite holiday is the Fourth of July so he can see all the cool fireworks. Donnie can do a frontflip on the trampoline.

Sophia was chosen as October student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Bement says, “I nominated Sophia because she is kind, courteous, and respectful to others. She values the importance of her education and gives 110% in all that she does. Sophia is prompt in turning in her assignments and provides exceptional, neat work always. She shows respect by raising her hand to speak and listening to others when it is their turn to speak. Sophia is a wonderful example to her peers and I can always trust her to make a positive choice. Keep working hard Sophia, you are doing great things!!!”
Sophie’s favorite part of school is playing tag in gym class. She also enjoys burger day at lunch. At home, Sophia likes to play on her phone and play video games. She watches 123 Go. Sophie likes to swim at her grandma’s house. Sophie can do a front flip on the trampoline!

Collin was chosen as October student of the month, His teacher, Miss Ring says, “I chose Collin for Student of the Month because he always follows directions right away, he has a positive attitude, I often find him helping and encouraging others, and he does his very best on all of his school work! He is caring, responsible, respectful, enthusiastic, and a great friend to all! He is also an outstanding leader in our classroom and is always showing his Thunderbird PRIDE! Way to go, Collin! I am so proud of you! Keep shining your light!”
Collin’s favorite part of school is gym class because he likes to run. He likes to play “clean your yard” the best. Collin likes math class and finding the page in his math book. At home, Collin likes to play with his dad. They play football together. He says his dad is better than him. Collin’s favorite football player is Tanner on the Thunderbirds. His favorite food is corn dogs. Collin can do a magic trick when he has a penny appear from out of his pocket.

Lexi was chosen as October student of the month. Her teacher, Miss Steffens says, “She is always showing me she is listening and ready to learn. She also loves helping others and showing them how to be respectful.”
Lexi’s favorite part of school is everything but mostly gym and math. She likes to work out in gym class and she thinks math class is very fun! At home, Lexi likes to play with her 2 dogs. Lexi really likes to take car rides with her parents to restaurants. She likes Cedar Crest the best! Lexi can do a one-handed cartwheel right into the splits. Amazing!

Stella was chosen for student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Oertwich says, “Stella is such a hard worker and is a fantastic friend. She is a rockstar in math class and could do math problems all day if I’d let her. She asks for extra work and homework to challenge herself. She intuitively knows when classmates need extra help while she is doing her work and tutors them through it without giving them the answers. She has such a giving heart and goes out of her way to make sure everyone is included and noticed! She really doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Stella is an absolute joy to have in class! Keep up the great work, Stella! I am so proud of you!”
Stella’s favorite thing about school is recess because she gets to play tag with her friends. The coolest activity she has done in school this year is to draw and paint Frankenstein. At home, Stella likes to watch TV, especially youtube videos. She likes to watch cake baking videos. Stella likes to visit her family, mainly her grandpa and her cousins.

Landon was nominated as October student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Johnson says, “Landon is an incredibly hard worker who always does his best work and motivates other students to work hard. He goes above and beyond at everything he does. His kindness to others is outstanding and he is friends with everyone. He uses his Thunderbird pride all the time and I am very lucky to have him in my classroom!”
Landon’s favorite part of school is pizza day at lunch. Landon likes math too. At home, Landon likes to play football with his older cousin. His favorite teams are the Vikings, Chiefs, Chargers, Thunderbirds, and Gophers. Landon really likes creepy stuff like the haunted house and haunted drive. Landon can do a front flip on the trampoline and is practicing so he can do it on the ground too.

Eli was chosen for October Student of the Month. His teacher, Mrs. Skersick says, “Eli is a very caring and kind student. He always comes into the classroom every morning, grabs his morning work and gets his jobs done in a timely manner. He does an amazing job of participating in all my lessons. Always willing to answer questions and interact with those around him. He is a very good friend and always willing to share and help others out whether it is in any subject or just someone to talk to . Eli is a very hard worker and always looking for ways to challenge himself. I am so grateful to have Eli as part of my class this year. Keep up the amazing work Eli and keep being that outstanding student and person you are.”
Eli’s favorite part of school is playing games, like Capture the Foxtail in gym class. He really likes to learn how to multiply and he likes to multiply the 9s the best. At home, Eli likes to run around and play with his dog. He is a good wrestler and he likes to play basketball, too. His favorite wrestling move is the cradle. Eli’s favorite book is The Last Kids on Earth.
