September Student of the Month

Cowgirls and Glue Guns today here in art class! Ms. Skersick’s Art 1 students sported cardboard cowboy hats for Texas-Western day, while working hard on their Origami “Ferris wheels”!


Mrs. Antonsen’s kickstarters had art with Ms. Skersick where they made spooky bats! Using a scissors and glue stick can be tricky at this age, but they did wonderfully! Fine motor skills is what these shape bats had in mind!




Waubun Student of the month

September is the month snapping turtle eggs usually hatch! Ms. Skersick made “Color wheel snappers” to teach color theory with Mrs. Johnson’s & Mrs. Oertwich’s 2nd graders!




For art class, Mrs. Jorud’s students learned about the color wheel and used watercolor and crayons to create “Watercolor wheel lions” with Ms. Skersick.


Mrs. Brininger’s kindergartners made chalk bats for art class with Ms. Skersick!


Ms. Ring’s students made their first art class project with Ms. Skersick, getting to use paint, marker, glue and scissors to create adorable raccoons! They also listened to “The Kissing Hand” story by Audrey Pen, while they worked!



“Color Zebras” for 2nd grade art with Mrs. Petersons class! Students learned about the primary and secondary colors.

Waubun-Ogema-White Earth District #435 is seeking a JH Boys Basketball Coach. Practice starts on Tuesday, January 3rd and will end on February 14th.The candidate should have previous experience in the sport of basketball, coaching experience preferred.
This position is responsible for ensuring the Minnesota State High School League Rules and Guidelines are met. Applicants must have quality communication skills, solid background, knowledge in the sport, and the ability to lead. Coaching is a great opportunity to develop young athletes for the next generation and to instill values through athletics.
All coaches will work under the guidance of our athletic director, Jordan Spaeth. Ms. Skersick had art with Mrs. Skersick’s 3rd grade class! They made wooden Ghosts!


Ms. Skersick had Art with Mrs. Bement’s first grade class where they made Jack-O-Lanterns with paper, paint and wood!


Ms. Skersick’s Art 1 students completed their ceramic pumpkin sculptures! School staff will be voting on pumpkins for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
