Antonio was chosen for student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Haugo says, “Congratulations to Antonio for being chosen for “Student of the Month”. He came new to Ogema and was immediately accepted at our school by his classmates. Antonio is quiet and very polite. He makes sure to let school workers know that they are appreciated. He works hard to learn new concepts and loves to be a part of our class. Antonio is a great addition to our class too.”
Antonio’s favorite part of school is gym. He likes to play tag. In the classroom, he likes to learn math. Antonio likes to play tag and jump on the trampoline. He really likes to eat chicken and ramen. Antonio's dream is to be a cop and a Navy Seal one day.

Zaelyn was chosen for student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Haugo says, “Congratulations to Zaelyn for being chosen “Student of the Month”. She shows empathy, kindness and gentleness to her fellow students. Zaelyn keeps her eyes open for people being treated unfairly. She made great academic gains throughout this year! Zaelyn shines best in small groups where she can share her experiences. She is definitely a great member of our class. Keep up the great work Zaelyn!”
Zaelyn’s favorite part of school is art class because gets to experience something new every time. She said Miss Skersick teaches them new skills every class. Her favorite project has been making a bunny. At home, Zae likes to play 123 with her siblings. She said they made up the game themselves. Zaelyn likes to hangout with her brother, Landon. She can do a back handspring! Zaelyn’s favorite food is spaghetti!

Forrest was chosen for student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Haugo says, “Forrest is a great 2nd grader. He works really hard in school. His scores continue to improve! He is wonderful at contributing to classroom discussions. His discussion is interesting and on topic! He is very interested in Science. Forrest is kind hearted. He is a good friend to all his classmates. He works hard to continue learning everyday. Way to go Forrest!”
Forrest’s favorite part of school is gym. He says going to gym class gets him pumped for wrestling practice. He likes to do SeeSaw activities in the classroom. At home, Forrest likes to wrestle with his dad. His favorite move is an arm bar. He also likes to play with his bey blades. Forrest’s favorite food is tacos. His best trick is doing ‘the worm.’

Congrats to the 2022 Subsection 30 Honor Choir participants in the honor choir festival last Friday! Alicia Vanpelt, Eric Beaupre, Lilly Dayton, and Abby Baker were all part of a great concert and were great representatives for our school at the festival.

Congratulations to the members of the Thunderbird Speech Team. At the subsection competition yesterday, Sonoma Weaver placed 6th in Dramatic Interpretation, making her the 2nd Alternate to the Section Tournament. Alicia VanPelt placed 5th in Extemporaneous Reading, making her the 1st Alternate to Sections. The Dramatic Duo of Eric Beaupre and Lilly Dayton were the subsection CHAMPIONS. As a result, they will be competing at the Section Tournament in Fosston on April 12th for a chance to represent WHS and Section 8 at the State Speech Tournament!

Alex was chosen for student of the month. His teacher, Mrs. Bement says, “I am choosing Alex as student of the month because of his work ethic. He always does what is expected of him, with no complaints, and has made great gains throughout this school year! I can always trust that Alex will come into the classroom each morning, ready to learn, and get right to his assignments. If Alex needs help on something, I appreciate the fact that he raises his hand to ask for help, as he truly wants to know the correct way to work out his assignments. On top of all of this, Alex is truly a sweet, kind-hearted boy who is a friend to all. I can partner him up with any other student to work on an assignment and I know the work will get done. I appreciate his kindness and I know it will take him far in life!”
Alex’s favorite part of school is playing semi trucks with his friends at recess. In the classroom, he likes when his teacher reads Magic Tree House books to the class. Alex likes to drive 4 wheeler, at home. He also likes to play Xbox. His favorite food is spaghetti. Alex likes to do magic tricks and can pull a rope from his hand. Another cool trick he can do is wheelies on his 4 wheeler. He says to “give it the beans” to pop a wheelie!

Miah was chosen for student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Moore says, “Miah radiates positivity in our classroom! She is always smiling, encouraging others, and is excited about learning! Miah puts forth 100% effort and never shies away from a challenge! I really enjoy having her in my classroom this year!”
Miah’s favorite part of school is math because it is fun. She likes to do IXL activities. Miah likes to use her manners, play nice, and not hit people. At home, Miah likes to clean her room. She jumps on the trampoline at home and can do front and back flips. Miah’s favorite food is chicken noodle hotdish. She likes to read the book, “Cat in the Hat”.

Paizlee was chosen for student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Peterson says, “I chose Paizlee because she is honest, kind, and caring. Paizlee is a great friend to anyone and naturally makes sure that everyone is included in each activity. She is a model of PRIDE in our classroom and encourages others to show PRIDE by her example. She works hard and puts her best effort into every assignment and challenge that she faces. Paizlee has a huge heart and I am so lucky to have her in my class this year! I am proud of you, Paizlee! Keep up the great work!”
Paizlee’s favorite part of school is math class because she likes to learn about numbers. During recess, she likes to swing with her friends. Paizlee is an excellent artist and likes to color all things, especially rainbows. Paizlee’s favorite food is spaghetti. Paizlee and her mom like to shop for clothes together!
