🌿 WOWE 5th Grade Sugar Bush Camp Update 🌿
This week, our WOWE 5th grade students continued their Sugar Bush Camp experience at the school forest! They checked their taps, recording sap amounts, temperature, time, and date—data that will be used later.
A special highlight was a demonstration by Jimmy Uran from Natural Resources, who showed students the traditional way of making Pine Pitch using pine sap, bear fat, and coal. Students also engaged in a Notice & Wonder activity, which will help them develop hypothesis statements.
Additionally, they began an experiment exploring how plants obtain the materials they need to grow, investigating the role of air and water in plant development.
Stay tuned for more updates on their learning journey! 🍁🔥

Congratulations to our March Seven Grandfather Teachings Award winners. Dibaadendiziwin- Humility
Humility is to know that we are a part of creation.
Humility is represented by the wolf. For the wolf, life is lived for his pack and the ultimate shame is to be outcast. Live life selflessly and not selfishly. Respect your place and carry your pride with your people and praise the accomplishments of all. Do not become arrogant and self important. Find balance in within yourself and all living things.
