Reminder to parents/guardians: There will be no afterschool activities on Thursday, November 2nd due to the football game. Go Thunderbirds!! Also, there is no school on Monday, November 6th.

Minnesota Department of Education Commissioner Willie Jett will hold the agency's annual American Indian Education Field Hearing from 10 am to noon on November 6th at Cedar Lakes Casino Event Center (6268 Upper Cass Frontage Road, Cass Lake).
The field hearing is an opportunity for Commissioner Jett and agency staff to gather input from American Indian educators, parents and students on the state of American Indian Education in Minnesota.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak during the hearing and individuals can also view the hearing remotely via Zoom. Submit any written comments to mde.input-indian-education@state.mn.us.

A little late, but no less important! September Student of the Month!


Sixty percent of blood donors are over the age of 40. Vitalant urges a new generation of volunteers to roll up their sleeves to prevent blood shortages in the future and to ensure that lifesaving blood is available when patients need it. Schedule your next or first donation at the Waubun Blood Drive Friday, November 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Waubun High School in the Community Room. Donors aged 16 will need to have their parents or guardians sign a Minor Donor Permit Form. ECFE class tonight! ECFE program is a separate class for children ages 0-4 and their parents/guardians. During each class, we have age-appropriate table activities, plus time to explore the other toys around the room. There is no charge to attend the ECFE class. Come join the fun!

Today is the day for PTSO's Spooktacular Halloween Dance from 1 -3 p.m. at the Waubun High School. Admission will be $1 per kid for ages 1-12 (with proceeds going to the Becker County Food Shelf). Don't miss out on this wickedly good time!


5th Grade Family Day event at the School Forest today, October 27th, from 11 to 1 pm. You are able to come at any time between 11 and 1 p.m. and can stay as long as you are able.
Here is a list of things you will be able to do with your student:
Eat lunch with your student. Lunch will be provided for students, please pack your own.
Learn about the mushroom, tree, or bird your student researched.
Follow directions written by your students to a location in the woods.
Go on a walk and enjoy our beautiful outdoor classroom.
