Reminder: American Indian Education Field Hearing is Dec. 11
Commissioner Willie Jett will hold a second 2023 American Indian Education Field Hearing, 10 a.m.–Noon, Dec. 11 at Jackpot Junction Event Center, 39375 County Road 24, Morton.
The field hearing is an opportunity for Commissioner Jett and agency staff to gather input from American Indian educators, parents and students on the state of American Indian Education in Minnesota. The agency will develop a report from the field hearings for Minnesota’s 11 Tribal Nations for review and comment.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak during the hearing and individuals can also join the hearing remotely via Zoom, with the Zoom room opening half an hour before the start of the meeting. Comments can be submitted at mde.input-indian-education@state.mn.us.

Miigwech to Niijii Radio, Taylor Makey and Bryce King Hanks for hosting a hand drum making class to our students this week. Over 15 students in grades 8-12 participated in the class. Finally product pics coming soon!

North Star Promise Scholarship Program
Beginning in fall 2024, the North Star Promise (NSP) Scholarship program will create a tuition and fee-free pathway to higher education for eligible Minnesota residents at eligible institutions as a "last-dollar" program by covering the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants, stipends and tuition waivers have been applied.
