Please make sure students have dressed appropriately for the dangerously cold weather. Boots, mittens, gloves, warm jackets and even snow pants are appropriate. We have drivers reporting students waiting for the bus in t-shirts and light sweatshirts. We apologize for the confusion caused by the previous post. No children will be left in the cold. It is possible in extreme circumstances, as mentioned above, a student may be sent back into the house to get dressed in winter gear and end up having to be driven in by parents. There are no busses built to keep a student warm all the way to school who is dressed for summer in this weather. We can not delay entire routes and keep children on the rest of the route in the cold even longer because a few are making no attempt to be prepared. We need to work together to keep our children safe and dressed to match the weather. Once again, these are rare occasions and we apologize for the confusion. We do want every child to be safe. This afternoon, Ogema Elementary celebrated perfect attendance with glow sticks and dancing! Students who attended had 0 tardies and 0 absences during the 2nd quarter!
Today we celebrated with students who had perfect attendance for Quarter 2 and also for all of Semester 1!
School and busses will be two hours late tomorrow for the Waubun-Ogema-White Earth School District due to the weather conditions. Picture day will be rescheduled. Have a good evening.
