Congratulations to the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds on their performances over this past weekend.
Friday:
The Thunderbirds won a nail biter over Barnesville 43-42, and then put in a good performance with Alexandria but came up short losing 54-22.
Saturday:
Blake McMullen placed 7th at the 9th Grade and under State Tournament in Champlin Park.
In Larimore, Will Olson won his third tournament of the year. Trevor and Dominick Neisen both placed second. Tatum Bement, Carter Bendickson and Blake Geray were all 5th.
In the second gym, Manny Johnson placed second, Malachi Brower and Thomas Azure placed third.

Congratulations to the following wrestlers that placed at the 9th grade and under region 8 wrestling tournament Saturday in Mahnomen.
Blake McMullen 1st at 126 lbs.
Tatum Bement 3rd at 170 lbs.
Tayshaun Bray 3rd at 285 lbs.
Blake McMullen qualified for the State tournament this weekend in Champlin Park.
There will be NO Junior High Boys Basketball practice this week
The family of Dave Caspers would like to thank Jordan Spaeth, Sarah Bauck and the Waubun High School Band for the nice tribute given to Dave at the basketball game last Thursday night. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.

Waubun After School Activities: Indian Education Program and Get Busy
Sledding at the school forest on Wednesdays starting tomorrow until the end of February for the after school programming. Bring warm clothes on Wednesdays if you plan on going sledding.
