I would like to introduce you to Alfonso. He describes himself as a happy young man. He loves all things that involve sports. Camping in the forest is one thing he would like to do while on his exchange year. He would also like to experience lots of snow.

Dorthea was chosen as student of the month. Her teacher, Mrs. Haugo says, “Dorthea is such a great quiet leader. She is very respectful and fellow classmates respect her. Dorthea is kind and thoughtful. She is also very patient. She is good to her friends and likes to visit with them. She follows Thunderbird P.R.I.D.E. by encouraging others and doing her best. She works hard at all her school work. She has a great attitude towards everyone. We love her great smile! Dorthea is always ready to lend a hand in the classroom. She is a fantastic Ogema 2nd Grader!! Way to go Dorthea for being chosen as this month’s student of the month!”
Dorthea’s favorite 2nd grade memory is figuring out answers in math class. She likes to read the Babysitter’s Club books and look at the pictures in all books. Dorthea’s favorite food is Merry’s sloppy joes. At home, she likes to play outside with her cousins. Dorthea likes to play on her computer too. Dorthea shares that she is very clumsy and trips a lot! :)
Amazing job, Dorthea!!

Second grade had the privilege of hosting a local author, Dawn Duncan and illustrator Anna Lassonde to read their new book Seraphina the Ballerina. it was such a fun interactive event. It had the 2nd graders engaged in movement and repeating phrases from the book. After the reading students/author/illustrator had a question/answer session. The 2nd graders asked thoughtful questions about writing the book and illustrating it. The event was recorded by Lakes Area TV3. Thanks to all who made this event possible.

Powwow demo at Ogema school. We are proud of our dancers and drummers. Great job!
