Another week of TBird PRIDE is shown in our Waubun Elementary. The kids enjoy having our weekly ticket drawing and get so excited to see the ticket buckets come out at lunch. Students can earn a ticket for showing their TBird PRIDE. Positive choices, Respect, In control, Do your best and Encourage others. Ask your student how they earn their tickets each week.

WOWE School is excited to bring to you again this year Kids in the Kitchen. Your student will be bringing home a Kids in the Kitchen kit in the coming days. Our Indian Education After School Program was busy this week learning the traditional way to remove the quills
(gaaway) from a porcupine (gaag). The students and staff will have plenty of supplies to start working on projects.










Pre-register for the Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Kick-Start for the 2024/2054 school year. Kick-Start is a School Readiness preschool program located in Ogema Elementary School. Kick-Start is for children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2025. Your child must be 4 years of age by September 1, 2024, to attend Kick-Start. There are three classrooms of Kick-Start, with an all-day, five-day-a-week schedule. A paper copy is also available in the District Newsletter. Mahnomen 4-H has planned a Cookie Decorating opportunity coming up at the end of March. This is for Grades 5th-12th (5th & 6th an adult)

Student of the Month!

The 5th grade had art at the school forest today with Ms. Skersick! We were missing quite a few students so we worked on a watercolor snowman scene!




The 5th grade school forest kids has art with Ms. Skersick today and they finished their watercolor chickadees!




The Advanced drawing and painting students finished their acrylic paintings. They used the grisaille technique, using lights and darks with charcoal and graphite pencil and then glazed color over the top. They used a fan brush with acrylic paint to make their trees.






Me. Kimmerle's 6th grade class had art with Ms. Skersick and used oil pastel, watercolor and charcoal to create a beautiful barn scene!




Ms. Skersick's Jr. high art students completed their directed paintings just in time for international polar bear day! They used the grisaille technique for the sky and glazed acrylic paint over the top. Using acrylic paint for the trees, they used a fan brush in the style of Bob Ross!








Ms. Steffen's fourth graders had art with Ms. Skersick and made oil pastel and watercolor pencil snowmen!
